Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team.
As Project Manager, you will participate in the estimating process as well as plan, and manage all aspects of construction projects from start to finish in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will effectively communicate with colleagues, workers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure projects begin and end with exceptional results.

Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain project schedules and cost projections for awarded work, including daily review and actioning of work in progress to meet contractual conditions of performance.
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses while continuously analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks.
• Lead customer communication and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of a project including attending regular meetings as needed.
• Ensure sites are equipped with proper permits, tools, material, and equipment and tracking of inventory is accurate.
• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion including onsite and offsite compliance with building safety regulations, quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
• In partnership with Site Supervisor, coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones using approaches and solutions that meet the customer’s expectations.
Qualifications:
• Certificate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or similar strongly preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in construction project management and estimating with demonstrated ability in the areas of cost control and project execution.
• Working knowledge of Canadian Building Code.
• Exhibit strong abilities in scheduling and must be knowledgeable with forecasts, project documents and writing contracts.
• Possess exceptional negotiating skills and leadership.
Site Superintendent
Full-time
We are looking to immediately hire an experienced Site Superintendent for commercial construction projects.
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all trades and effectively managing daily on-site activities. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants, and clients. They will need to successfully direct sub-contractors and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and budget. This individual will work closely with the Project Manager and fulfill an integral role on the project.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of the job schedule and manage construction schedule on a weekly basis.
• Review project plans/specifications and propose project budget for constructability.
• Propose possible cost savings measures and identify potential construction problems.
• Ensure job site meets all office and equipment requirements.
• Contact, schedule and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers, and utilities.
• Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings.
• Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced.
• Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required.
• Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control.
• Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of Bruno’s directly owned equipment on the job site.
• Control and monitor labour, material, and equipment expenses.
• Ensure that “as-built” drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period.
• Prepare project deficiency lists and expedite completion of deficiency items.
